Northbridge temps?

Thread Starter
I have an M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo with the stock heatpipe setup on the NB and the MOSFET(I think?) Well I have my CPU OC'd a little from 2.6 to 2.8 and was running Orthos and my CPU core temps were like 130F something (stock cooling) but when I touched the NB heatsink it was so hot, it pretty much burns my finger after just a couple seconds...

Is there anything that can read my NB temps? and is that much heat normal?

I haven't even bumped up any voltages...just the CPU frequency

Try Everest. It supports most of the Nforce chipsets.

I use speedfan for the NB temps. It can be downloaded Herep

It's under system temp in there.

I have the same motherboard as you. I have found Everest works best for me. Speedfan gave me some whacky readings, but that may have been a Vista 64bit thing. No matter the voltage I run through the NB, I never see my motherboard temp break 36 C. If I run stock voltage through the NB it usually runs around 29 C.

the M2N series has some sorta issue with voltage, as I recall.. Cant put certain voltages past a certain point or something. Maybe you are maxing out what the board can handle and its working %100 to keep up? Just a thought.

i had that motherboard for while i had the NB problem but it was solved by good air flow at the heatpipe .

For a Temporary fix put a fan over the northbridge to prevent damage then you can use everest so look at north bridge temps.

I have the same motherboard and under Everest it says the motherboard is 37C. Is this too high? Stock voltage too.
