Really new to overclocking

Thread Starter
okay so, I have been wondering how I can overclock my cpu. I looked at the overclocking guide but I think something is wrong. My bios only has DRAM and nothing else does it mean the cpu is locked? Explain please
My specs are
GeForce 7050m Mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 BE-2300
Core Voltage 1.200V
1.9Ghz
2046MB DDR2 533mhz RAM
8800 GTS G92 OCED 750/ 1875/1001 - 51C AVG

I tried benchmarking it and it did 20 - 40 fps on the first 2 test for 3DMark 06
And FOR THE CPU TEST I GOT 0 - 5 FPS
On Counter Strike Source 1280x1024 I get 40 - 100 FPS - I expected better
Can someone explain to me why my system is slow?
Well someone explain to me why the only thing I can find is DRAM?
Oh and did I oc my 8800 GTS well enough?
I was also wondering if my cpu sucks or should I upgrade?

I OCED My Pentium from 2.6 ghz to 3.0 ghz and it fried. I didn't know what I was doing. Can someone explain to me.
Thanks

can you tell me why my fps is low?
is it because my cpu sucks? I heard my cpu can oc all the way to 2.5 ghz with stock cooling
is this true?
I didn't see any oc options in the BIOS. And clockgen doesn't recognise the chips

as I said in the other post you made, the 7050m isnt overclockable via bios. you need to use nTune or somthing similar.

Try getting a better board, and stay away from ecs.

PLSD TO NOT DOUBLE POST KTHX!!!!

Getting 0-5 FPS in the CPU tests is perfectly normal, in fact, you should expect much less than 5 from your processor.

Secondly, your processor running at 1.9GHz, even if it is dual core, is the likely problem for your low framerate. Basically, you're not bottlenecking, you're just not able to get the framerates the 8800 has the potential for, because it will only process as fast as the processor can give it directions.

Overclocking with that motherboard is a problem. Basically, you hae no options to increase the multiplier nor the FSB/Reference Clock. Because of this, you're not going to get a BIOS level overclock.

Try to get a new motherboard and processor. You have a great GPU, as well as a good GPU overclock. What was your overall 3dMark score?

It surprising to see you getting up to 40 fps on the first test, when you only get 40-100 on CSS. On my Signature rig, I get about 70-150 in CSS and only about 20-25 in The first test of 3dMark.
