Gaming summer PC

Thread Starter
I plan on building a PC this summer, by June 22 i should have about $900, the OS and the keyboard/mouse. I know there is probobly a few contradicting opions about a few of the parts, but please try to be objective with your comments. Any suggestions are welcome. Heres what ive got planned so far.

OPTICAL-http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16827151153

Any suggestions that would make my build better/cheaper would be great.

p.s. do you think ill need another fan for the CPU besides the stock. Also do you think that the PSU is a little overkill?

Thanks

Pretty nice build overall. I don't know if the Q6600's from the egg are G0 stepping or not. I believe Tigerdirect has them in stock, correct me if I'm wrong. I would go for a Tuniq tower or a TRUE. The 8800GT's should drop in price especially since the new series of cards are coming out.

-Everything looks great, but Newegg is selling DDR2-1000Mhz G.Skill 2x2gb for the same price as the 800Mhz set you picked out.

-As far as the PSU being overkill, well, if you aren't planning on crossfire/sli than yes it is. Though, I have the same PSU with a single GPU and like to be safe with the headroom. Your choice though, I'd just stick with it, considering it is one of the best units I've found. As far as the price, you can get it for much cheaper here ($67.95) after MIR and use of a Google Checkout Account.

-Aftermarket aircooling is pretty much dominated by the T.R.U.E (Thermalright Ultra-Extreme 120) and the Tuniq Tower. There is a reason they are on top amongst enthusiests, give them a look.

Hope this helps.
