Thread Starter
see me system below.

my friend just gave me an evga nF 780i mobo and right now i just dont know what to do. but i think i have 2 option

1 sell the board and get a phenom (keep everything else)

2 get a intel cpu and may be upgrade the memory (keep most of the things beside the mobo), which intel cpu is easy to hit 4.0+??

Klnospicy, if you do decide to sell the motherboard and buy a Phenom then check out the Phenom 9850 BE. I have seen quite a few users around here hitting the magical 3Ghz OC.

In regards to the Intel question, you may have better luck posting in one of the Intel threads. As far as I know the E8400 is capable of hitting 4Ghz. At what voltage? Can the stock cooler handle the OC? These are questions for an Intel user that has experience with an Wolfdale

In all honestly I don't see anything wrong with your current setup. In my opinion you have a kick arse rig

Good luck

This is one of those hard questions, the problem is you will need at least an E6750 for that and they go for $120+, to easily get there you will need the E8400 and thats $170. Then you need a good board which will cost you at least $80 more. I saw an open box 9850 phenom for $217 shipped....so yeah you could go either way.
