Xigmatek fan upgrade?

Hey everyone... I have been doing some poking around in ways to improve my CPU temps so I can possibly get a higer OC (it likes to crash at 68*C, but that might be something else too) And aside from going WC, I also noticed that the fan that came with my Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is only 56.3 CFM. Could a fan with a higher CFM rating (such as 80-100) improve my temps significantly? And would it be worth the extra noise? Or is the heatsink already at its maximum thermal capability?

You are only going to drop 1-2 degrees by getting a 100+ CFM fan. Do not expect much.

I would try reseating the HSF myself. Just a drop in the middle and let it spread under the weight of the sink.

I was thinking of reseating it first, just wanted to get some other input. I really can't seem to isolate the source of crashing. My ram is technically underclocked (link/synch) at stock voltage. My motherboard voltages are rather high, causing the northbridge to run hot. I may get some more TIM and reseat the mobo heatsinks as well, along with a new fan. I have been raising CPU voltage as well but sometimes raising it actually causes a quicker crash. Could I be in one of those FSB holes?

One of the greatest factors in temps is the ambient temp... Pretty sure you already knew that though. 68 degrees at 3.4 on a Q66 DOES seem a bit high to me though.

I have the 92mm. just replaced with a scythe 100mm and my exhaust with the ultra kaze. cpu is at stock but load temps went from 61 to 57. the ultra kaze is thicker than normal 120mm fans and might help to push more air through the heatsink. hope this helps.

My first post btw... yay
