NASA computers are used for number crunching and making really cool looking graphs....Not playing graphically intense games....

Unfortunately mate, OCN has a bandwagon. One person says it sucks and the rest follow.

So it wasn't optimized to its full potential. Even so, you wouldn't run it at max settings, that is why they have disabled them.

Now i am not saying this game is perfect, hell i hated the game. But guys, seriously.....voice your own opinions and not something you read in a thread 2 hours ago. Crysis, Monkeys, Code......yawn.......

I agree completely. I didn't think the story line was too flash but it is without a doubt the most impressive game I've seen in terms of graphical presentation (maybe World in Conflict comes close) and in terms of the implementation of physics.

ENTERPRISE, while I can understand where you are coming from when you say it isn't optimized well, it is difficult to deny that it is the most advanced engine available today. It has reset the benchmark that Oblivion set when it was released. As with most graphical triumph, the story has suffered. But I believe games like Far Cry 2 will use this as a benchmark and then develop the story as well.

My favorite engine has been Unreal 3 for a while now, but the Cryengine 2 is growing on me

Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that the engine Crysis uses it meant for large scale rendering, not fast past shooting and explosions.

Cryis is weak compared to Gears of war, story wise. The only thing crysis impressed me with is graphics "that you cant max out" and the nano suit. Thats it, the story blows. Fail. FarCry 2 ftw?

To be quite honest, the first true next gen game, in my opinion, it Grand Theft Auto: IV. Crysis uses the same type of coding found last gen games. They just brute-forced it. Games such as GTA: IV and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed are using brand new, never before seen technologies. I mean, yeah, ragdolls, what ever. But when a gang member is falling over, shooting randomly, only to be hit by his own gang member in a car, and flip over the car, that is awesome.

The Gears of War story wasn't great but the game itself felt very cohesive and variable. It always felt a little different

As for storyline I couldn't go past Bioshock or CoD4.

No console produced game will ever be next gen. The graphics in GTA IV look horrible compared to what the newer PC games look like. It pretty much looks like HL2 or BF2.
