It looks I need one of those 4 pin connectors. The 4th connector is the Speed Control.

It sounds like u need a PWM controller.

Did the motherboard come with Smart Gaurdian hardware monitor? My LP LT X48 has it and I can control the CPU, Chipset, and system fan with it. You can set them up to be triggered by temps or manual. I should be available with the X38 boards as well. The CPU fan header should be a 4pin as well.

I do have Smart Guardian, but because I do not have the 4 pin connector for the motherboard (only 3), I cannot control the fan because the 4th connector is for the controlling of the fan. I hope that makes since
