I've never heard of that PSU- it's rarely a good idea to skimp on the power supply. Also I'd save money one the 9800GTX and get an 8800GTS. They're essentially the same card.

Memory wise, G.Skill DDR2 1000 PQs are about the best deal on the planet right now, but I don't know what prices/availibility are like where you are.

Seems pretty solid though! Get the best cooling you can afford for that q6600- they're voltage hogs and generate a lot of heat if you overclock 'em!

Well, i ain't no intel owner, but

I think that it looks pretty good, i do think that you should get the TRUE(ThermalRight Ultra 120 extreme) and a 120mm fan that will keep the temps pretty low for the quads (http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling...spx?i=2943&p=3)

Else it looks like a nice rig to build
(are you thinking of overclocking`???)

The Akasa is an Enhance, I'm not sure on the specifics but is probably a decent psu. But it is not what would get for that price. This Corsair is a much better deal: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...23&subcat=1084

edit- Since you were willing to spend £100 including VAT, you could probably get the 750 Corsair even though you don't need that much power.

the pain of building a new system! -
my heads bust already and not even on the sauce yet!

i shud just pay one of you experts to make it!

back to the drawing board!
just realised that the motherboard i am looking at does not support SLi!
not that i am getting 2x graphics cards...but its handy incase another one comes along at a fair price!

You may want to swap out your OCZ 2x1 GB kit for a Mushkin or G.Skill 2x2 GB kit. You know you'll upgrade to 4 GB anyways, so why not do it while the prices are ridiculously low .

Some words of advice -
Definately go for the corsair PSU over than Akasa.
That is a great deal on the 9800gtx, stick with that.
OCZ RAM don't use very good chips, it may be an idea to go for G.Skills suggested earlier . These are a great buy at the moment.
As for the cooler the Big Typhoon is good (I have one) but a better buy would be the OCZ vendetta 2.
The processor looks good to me.
If you want SLI, you need a board based on the 650i, 680i, 750i or 780i chipset. Although that gigabyte is a great overclocker, it just lacks SLI. Here is an open box striker extreme 680i.

also, I might be selling a tuniq tower 120 that is brand new in box. Shoot me a pm if you're interested, or need any help with anything. First builds are always fun
