NEW Rig: Good or Wrong Direction? - Page 2

Doesn't the motherboard have to support DDR 8500 to use that ram? I'd go for a newer chipset anyway like the 750i

NEW Memory
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x1GB)

(does that RAM even run on Asus P5N-E SLI NF650i SLi?!...lol)

NEW Cooler
OCZ Vendetta 2 CPU Cooler

so...my system was solid but needed...a different motherboard, RAM, PSU and cooler..lol
all i got right was the case, fans, graphics card and cpu! (the easy stuff!!),,,lol

grand total now £606
That RAM isn't on the QVL list for the asus. I know asus boards are really picky with RAM. Is SLI looking like a real possibility? because between the P5N-E and the DS3L, The gigabyte is definately the better board.

I agree, also, what size monitor will you be using? If it's the 19" in your sig then SLI probably wouldn't be worth it unless you buy a bigger monitor too

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=BU-075-OK
