I agree with the post I quoted, so do not put words in my mouth please.
The key word there is "as far as you know." Is it fair to make a claim about the validity of an article that deals with something you don't know? The single major reasno for AMD to do this is to promote PC gaming. It sells more chips for AMD through both AMD and ATI if they succeed, so to interpret AMD GAME! as anything other than an attempt to promote PC gaming I think is a gross misreading of the situation.

And I never accused you of anything, so I'll chalk this up to a language barrier issue and not dwell on it other than to say that the word "if" at the beginning of my sentence is key to the meaning of the sentence, and even if it weren't there, it would still not be putting words in your mouth as I didn't paraphrase anything you've said.

Console gaming here is not very popular. In most of the cases PC is not only game machine, and if you need game machine you make you own gaming config. Because piracy is something wide spread (Even though there are many authority actions against it, I'm glad they are not very successful), consoles are not a choice because of these factors. This is the reason I wrote "AFAIK", because I wouldn't ever think about that this can be a PC gaming promotion and there was no article that stated this.

This sounds to me as if I agree with everything he said. Sorry if that wasn't the meaning. Maybe the problem is in the missing subject

PS. Maybe consoles are getting more popular, but PCs are dominating for sure.

...I'm gonna go ahead and agree that AMD chips are NOT useless, they are pretty powerful, it's just that intel has better chips. So...I still see no reason not to go core 2. AMD Game is a good idea, but it will not take off.

Did you visit the link(s) to a previous article(s) that he referred to and which explains some of the focus in the current article? I'd put my money on "no." You don't have to agree with the article, but based upon your retorts to it you are not understanding in the slightest what the author is getting at. In fact, I'd be willing to bet you didn't read my entire post before responding since I explained half of what complained about in this last post.
1. I already read the article he mentioned BEFORE he even made this article.

2. If I don't understand then i guess it would be up to you to explain why my points don't make sense, but you don't, you just keep telling me i don't understand. I understand PERFECTLY what the author is getting at and i explained, point for point, why it's a good idea. The author is approaching it as an enthusiast gamer and he's writing about it as though AMD is trying to picture themselves as the savior of the PC gaming community. Both are completely off base.

3. Could it be made into an even BETTER idea? Sure. I'm just saying that the author is writing it from the wrong perspective.

Someone explain to me how this is trying to save PC gaming? As far as I see it AMD GAME! is about enticing a person at the wal-mart to buy a PC over an Intel one and not about making a difference in the PC gaming place. I mean look at the sticker. I normally enjoy extremetech articles but it seems that the author just wanted to bash AMD imo.

That's the point I'm trying to make, except it's not just to 'persuade' people into learning the AMD name and to buy more AMD products, it's designed to help people pick what card they should be getting for running certain games.

They're not trying to save PC gaming, just make it easier for consumers to buy the better hardware over the others.

How the heck are AMD chips USELESS???..thats absurd..amd make very nice chips and especially for the budget user...ive made 5 rigs in the past month and all have used budget amd chips and they are very nice systems and customers are very happy, (they always ask what system is this?..is it a pentium??..im like no, its amd..they look confused in the end but i tell them its better for what they paid)..I may have a quad but i actually prefer AMD and hope they bounce back and tear apart intel like they did when it was A64 VS Netburst/Prescott..

Because that is a large part of it! How can you not see that increasing PC gaming would be beneficial to AMD regardless of its market share? If AMD were solely focusing on getting a bigger market share they wouldn't put their attention on systems capable of video games...
