What cases/PSU to get on a budget - Page 4

Like I figured, I wasn't able to dig up much on the Enermax. How is this closet computer going to be setup? Is the closet going to be closed up, i.e. no airflow? If so, that sounds like a torture chamber for any psu . I'm really kind of torn here, the caps in the Antec do not like heat one bit so I can't let you stick that in a closet to run 24/7. The Enermax doesn't have PFC and I can't find efficiency rated anywhere so I can't imagine it would be any good. If you are to believe Enermax it does have OCP/OVP so if it were to die, your components should be safe and you would be getting a warranty with the Enermax.

Honestly, I don't feel good about either of those PSUs. If it were me, I would get the Earthwatts 380 from newegg for $30 shipped AR and find some cheapo case somewhere local so you don't have to pay shipping. Someone has to have some old beige crap cases just waiting for your pIII sitting around somewhere for free or very cheap.

Well, there is going to be a little bit of airflow for sure. The back of the closet isn't sealed so with the PSU fan in the corner some hot air should be able to make it out with cold air coming in from above or something. It definitely won't be anything fantastic though and some heat will always remain trapped. So the PSU that runs the coolest (most efficient) will probably be the best one to use.

I guess I'll be going with the earthwatts then Thx for your help

Oh and I probably won't find a cheap case locally, everyone I know throws out stuff in a hurry.

I like this FSP

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104047

A400w FSP with 27A on the 12's for 36 bucks. It's a new arrival so i haven't seen any reviews by customers or pros. However it looks promising for anyone who only needs around 25 amps or so anyway.
