Artifacts at Startup

Ok. So I recently installed coolers on my 8800gt's, installed a new mobo and q6600. i completely reinstalled windows, and when i start it up, its full of artifacts. They are not in sli because the coolers come out to far so i have to order a 12 cm sli bridge. I installed the drivers from the disc (could be the problem) and the mobo drivers from the disc. The thing that worries me most is that i needed to extract the screws from my one gpu. (needed a hammar) because the screws stripped. now this only happened after i reinstalled windows and put both cards in. Suggestions?

setup:
evga 750i ftw
q6600
two 8800gt's with rev 2's
XP Proffesional

You put both cards in, but your not SLI'ing them... I think that's your problem. Take out the card that's not being used.

One of your cards could be borked. Try testing each of them individually.

However, you may want to try reinstalling drivers first.

Now, you had to use a hammer for what exactly? To get the heatsink off?

Yes the screws were stripped because i was dumb and didnt have the right size screwdriver so i had to drill and hammar then twist the screws out also known as extracting which a proffesional advised me to do. and i certainly believe it is broken. i took both out and put the suspect in. It artifacted. Put the other in and it worked fine. Yet it seems the one cyberpowerpc gave me was a bit scratched up on the heatsink so they may have damaged that one too. I ve used the two cards since the beginning of the year.they were great. now ones dead. I know im an idiot bla bla bla. the audio isnt working on my mobo or the case buttons . (Which did until i changed mobos) And yes i have overclocked them before to an awesome 720/1050 (Not Now) So basically im in hell right now. at least the q6600 is working i guess thats the positive.

So the solution is simple, yes? Just RMA the card that crapped out on you. All you have to do is find new screws that will fit. I would reccomend a hobby shop for that.

Did you connect the jumpers for the buttons?
