That's what I was thinking. There's a lot of potential there IMO.

Uses:

Airports/train stations - times of flights/trains.
Phones - flip phones with exterior and interior screen.
Marketing - Bus shelters with moving images. Cost a lot but would SURELY get people talking about it.
Internet Cafe - (would need to be WELL priced. probably won't) only need 1 flat screen for 2 people. Goes the same with LAN parties but usually the people hosting it won't bring screens for people so this would be VERY rare.

Anything to add to the list of potential uses that COULD actualy become reality? (not battleship)

The original source Tech-On pegs it mostly for mobile/outdoor usage. There's no backlight which cuts down on a lot of possible applications

Quote:
With the adoption of a reflective type electrically controlled birefringence (ECB) display mode, the panel can eliminate the need for a backlight and provide a higher outdoor visibility. Thus, the panel is intended for use in mobile devices, according to the company. For example, the new LCD panel can simultaneously function as the main and sub displays on a mobile phone, the company said.
