What is my real temp?

Thread Starter
My bios always says about 10C cooler than any of the monitors I've tried. I'm a noob, so could someone tell me what temperatures I should be looking at, and what programs get me accurate readings. I've heard the FSB can effect the cpu temp readings?

And what is the Aux temp in Sandra? my case? it's 22C.

how are you reading the bios temp? in the bios by shutting down the computer and restarting it? if this is the case it would explain the temp difference.

are you using the asus GUI temp monitor?
try downloading and installing speed fan.

speedfan will not run on my system for some reason. It comes up with errors.
I use the Smart Q fan utility with my MB. When I'm using the PC I set it to performance and at night I set it to silent so my GF doesn't get irritated with the fans in the morning.

Also, my temps are higher than others with the same cooler and cpu. I'm pretty sure I have great airflow. Gonna mod the case for 2 external 80mm AC Stealths on top of the exhaust vents, just for extra flow.

I have the Zalman 9700 blowing toward the PSU, as I cant point it toward the back, because of the mounting. Should It be blowing toward the PCI's?

Also, I used Arctic Silver 5 instead of the Zalman stuff because I've read its the best.

Room temps are about 65-70 F. PSU stays at 22C.

I also have the intake fans daisychained to the CPU plug for fan Control. Is that slowing down the Zalman?
