1280x1024 is 5:4.
matrox tripplehead2go or 2nd GFX for 3740x1024. the first being the smarter choice if you want to game on all 3 monitors, and the only choice if you have SLI.

16:10 is actually based on a windows visual specification. The extra height is to compensate for the start menu bar (assuming you dont hide it or something).

I totally agree with the usefulness of a tall screen rather than a widescreen. I think the idea of a widescreen on a laptop is stupid anyway, but if you're gonna go wide, you may as well go with 16x9.
