Thread Starter
in my spare time im going to convert my old rig into a HTPC. Decided to try Myth
TV. Reasoning is i dont know how much it will get used so i dont see the point in handing over much money at the moment.

Specs:

AMD Athlon 2800
1 GB Ram
Nvidia FX5900XT

Ive downloaded a Package which will install linux and myth (apparently) if this doesnt work ill try each individually.

I have no experience of Linux and was wondering if anyone else has tried Myth and how they find it and if anyone can help me as to what tuner card to use that will work on linux.

I have satelite (Sky Digital UK) and it has a signal output on my set top box which i guess i can take from there into the tuner card. I know i will have to use the set top box to change channel etc its just so i could record. Is this possible and if so I guess i need a dual tuner so i can record from that and watch freeview on the other tuner?

any help appreciated
