But it could be different from motherboard to motheboard.
Ahh thanks for that info

But i have seen a few people who have posted an error code were it said CPU not detected I think......i am 99% sure i have.

I have had that error message too, with my half-arsed boltdown mod on my freezer 7. I tightened it down too much and the board said CPU not detected, ROFL. At least everything was okay after I loosened it all up. I think the message depends on the board/BIOS.

no ATX Motherboard I know of will post without a CPU.

Incorrect. No diplay does not mean a bad motherboard.

It could be bad RAM, Northbridge, PS/2 device, USB, IDE, SATA, floppy, video card seating, power, or CPU issues as well. Video card test isn't until much later in the boot process.
Once again...

90 percent of boards wont do anything without a cpu, some boards with onboard post cards will display a post code (thats where you prolly got your cpu not detected code from btw) and some will simply beep a series to be researched in the manual or online. Most just wont do anything whatsoever if there is no cpu.

Havent tested my M2N32 yet though.

Good question, i would like a solid answer to this also. I have never had a dead CPU so haven't got any personal experience in the subject.

The only reason i am guessing it will post into the BIOS is because it still comes up with an error message, which means the BIOS should still be somewhat operational.....or maybe my logic is twisted
