Keyboard Doesn't work after sleep-Vista

My keyboard sometimes does not work after coming out of sleep, although going in and out of sleep again or a restart usually fixes it. How would I fix this?

Does it have drivers that need to be loaded? Maybe check the manufacturer's website and see.

I believe there was a KB update that fixed problems with the USB port re-initialising after standby.
Do you have anything else plugged into the USB ports that does work after standby.
What type of sleep are you using - S3 or Hybrid sleep.

My mouse works-some instances in the past it had froze up every few seconds. My computer completely shuts off-I don't know which one. I just click the yellow button to "put your computer into a low-power state" so I'm guessing its S3?

You might want to go into the BIOS and change the power options. Turn suspend to RAM off or on - depends on what it is set on now. So you are talking about XP not Vista?

No, I'm talking about Vista. When you click the orb at the bottom right, next to the lock button there is that yellow "low power-state" button or sleep. I'll check my BIOS.

You may also want to try disabling hybrid sleep -

I think that feature is only for laptops, I don't have the option.

This is the settings related to sleep (or I think so) in my BIOS:

ACPI Function- Enabled
ACPI Suspend Type- S1 and S3
Soft-Off by PBTN- Instant-off
WOL(PME#) From Soft-off- Disabled
PWRON after PWR-Fail- Off
