I want to start with a window mod...Help?

Thread Starter
J/w...Is there some sort of instructions someone has typed out anywhere for a more-less walkthrough of starting with nothing and putting window into the side of the case...(Like I’ve said a bit around lately) I’ve wanted to start modding my cases...I know nothing but Im pretty creative...So I was wondering what I would need, how much, were to go for the stuff...Etc, Etc, Etc,....
Just a Window for now...sometime might be a window in a different shape then a normal square...I don’t know...Anyone got any links or can help me?
(And I want it to have the rubber around it...no screws...I don’t like screws and bolts and things...)

Any help is good

Edit: I think I may have put this in the wrong place...If so can someone move it or something...I'm sorry...I did it in a hurry...

You are in the right place.

There are three main ways people add a window to their case... You can apply it from the outside with hardware or adhesive. If done correctly this looks very pro. In fact that is how CoolerMaster does it on their Cosmos.

You can use an "H" gasket (a rubber molding) and that's really pretty old skool. You rarely see a gasketed window in a case mod...and certainly never from the factory.

You can apply the window from inside with hardware or adhesive.

Each has it's plus and minus.

Outside mount the actual acrylic needs to be perfect: lasercut. And the mounting method needs to be precise...no room for error.

Gasket mount hides everything...hog out a piece of acrylic and trace around it with the right sized washer for the gasket and hog that hole out and line those hideous cuts and hide everything lol.

Inside application the hole in the side panel needs to be very nice...although you can use C-Channel Edging and hide minor imperfections. Laser cutting the panel will allow for a no edging hole that can look very pro.
