I agree. It is a great all around CPU. You should be good to go for a while.

Get a P35.

It doesn't have anything to do with the 965 being older, it has to do with the fact that most 965's can barely reach 400fsb with a Q6600, if even that. If you buy a 965 you have a fairly good chance of being limited on your OC by the mobo.

Also, most P35's now will have 45nm support out of the box.

So with either cpu, I still must suggest P35. They are too cheap now not to. You can pick up the Gigabyte P35 DS3L for $70-80 if you shop, it is a super sweet board for the price.
