If by digital cable you mean cable TV. A set top box is the name given for an external digital SD (standard definition) or HD (high definition) tuner. So like a Freeview box or a Sky + box or a Virgin media box ect ect. There are loads of differnt brands most phone and internet proviers do them now like BT, Talk Talk and Tescali. If you ask me Sky are the best guys to be with atm.

They either connect via
A sattilite like sky duh lol can be expencive to set up but worth it. Will involve a set up payment and then a monthy subscription to however many 100's of channels you want.

Cable (usually invovles digging up roads however is the most reliable no inertfearence). Will involve a set up payment and then a monthy subscription to however many 100's of channels you want.

Or your standard ariel RFU revicer this is usually the easyist option because most homes are kitted out with RFU ariels when analouge TV was fashonable a long long time ago. The set top boxes for ariels have a very limited selection of channels. Only requires a set up payment the channels are free.

Sorry if I didnt explain that very well lol your best bet is to just google "set top box".

As for the "monitor" its not really worth buying lol get a proper TV or a proper monitor OR go a lil crazy and buy a PCI TV tunor card

please do some research before saying stuff like that. 32" panels with 1080p are worthless because you wont even notice the difference with such a small panel. when you get larger panels such as 37-40"+ then you will notice it.

my samsung 32" @ 720p is not garbage, ty
