If you didn't reinstall your OS, theirs your problem

Plus, CPU speed has very little to do with startup, and loading speeds. Also, Crysis is hardly affected by CPU speed. The difference between a 2.33ghz C2D and 3.0ghz CDQ is less than 5FPS.

Run SuperPI, or compare the 3dmark06 CPU scores. You could also try the Counter Strike Source benchmark.

When you put in the new motherboard?...You must reinstall after such a major change.

How would you like it if suddenly your place of work/school was uprooted and became a brothel...thats how your Operating system feels...everything has changed and it can't fix it.

EDIT: It seems I'm going to have to find a more unpleasant replacement for 'brothel' - many see it as a pro (gay bar anyone). Nonetheless....It is really not a good idea not to reinstall after a motherboard replacement.

Benchmarks mean nothing though... Who cares about a score if your computer runs smooth as silk? Anywho to the Original poster this is why i've not upgraded yet.. using a e2180 then using my 4000+ i felt no difference in opening programs running schtick etc.. anywho yea.. The only difference was the superpi score.. But yea..

This is why I think Im leaning towards taking it back adn just spending the 150 bucks on the x2 6000. I could care less what the benchmark scores say. My system is running my games about the same. Opening programs got no faster. I really see no difference.

Seriously, reinstall your OS. You will see the difference. Upgrading major components such as a motherboard (especially to an entirely different platform) without reinstalling will net terrible performance.

I did have a quick question.... I thought maybe, my power supply only has a 4 pin, and the board requires an 8 but works with a 4pin. My old 590 evga is the same.

This would or wouldnt be affecting performance?

Either way I am about to upgrade it, but I am curious
