Poor GFX performance on a GA-EP35-DS3P

Thread Starter
I just upgraded my system from an AM2+ board to an Intel C2D E8400 on a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P motherboard. Everything for the most part seemed ok. I got the OC up to 3.9GHz so far and I having fun learning how to OC Intel parts.

I just ran 3DMark06 and got a score of around 6000! I was getting almost 11,000 on my AMD system. Also my Crysis benchmark dropped by 6 FPS. I know its not a fault of the CPU or mobo, but my faulty setup. As I said I am new to Intel so can someone please give me some advice!

have you set the pci clocks too 100 and theres another one you need to set to 33.33 (cant remember what its called.) both these settings will scale up as you O/C and will effect perfomance wildly

I'll have to try that. I have the PCI-e freq set to AUTO right now, but the minimum it is settable to is like 92 or something. Thats not much lower than stock.

you need it at 100 no more no less. you can play around abit later (once stable) for some extra stability (maybe) but the results are negligible

Gaarbear mentioned verifying that its running in 16x mode. Do you know how to do that?

Tell us what scores you got for the different bits of 3dmark, then we can see if it's the CPU that's getting low scores of the GPU so we can find where the problem is.
