OK, I expect games to be 50% cheaper in future... because piracy makes them expensive now... right... lol!

LMAO.

Another point:

Why would mobo manufactures use these chips?

1) Do they want less sales as people avoid them?
2) Do they really care about game piracy?
3) If they use these chips... less money for the consumer to buy motherboards.

People that build their own computers will probably avoid most of these motherboards. It'll be the Dell/HP/Acer people that get stuck with the chips.

Somehow I doubt any of this will work though. Pirates always find a way.

1) Motherboard sales will plummet
2) This is bound to run into problems with purchased/Steam games.
3) Probably will forget and let you disable in the BIOS.
4) Remove it from the motherboard FTW?
5) If people can afford such a new fancy motherboard, pretty sure they'd be able to afford games.
6) 'Uncrackable' k lol

Tbh all this pirate stuff is over exagerated especially about pc, they act like pc is the only thing people pirate on. Sooooo many people also pirate on consoles but no 1 winges about that like this atm. Just look at the 360 all you have 2 do is flash it and boom; you can play copied games.

Its just a phase if you ask me with not much proof to back it up.
Just seems like a continuation on the gigantic assumption that if people can't pirate something, they would buy it. Sure, you paid $670 for that copy of photoshop. Right, I believe you.

I live in China, and am probably one of the only people here with a legitimate retail copy of Vista Ultimate. It's such a big deal that people gather around it. My copy cost 2500 RMB. Their copy cost 5 RMB. Most people here with a college degree and an office job are making 1500RMB per month. Glance back a couple sentences to the price tag on Vista. Photoshop is more than twice that.

The best thing to fight game piracy is Steam. I like the community they built and I like the fun-ass games for $8 and $9 right along side the higher priced blockbusters (see Ninja Reflex and AudioSurf).
