[Guru3D] End of game piracy - Page 12

if all games are online base games only like some MMORPG's like guildwars, people would not be able to crack it because everytime u log online, it checks.....so really, only one person can play at a time...

unless i play at night, my friend plays it in the morning and my other friend plays it in the afternoon... lol

What kind of mentality is this that the subjective perception of a products quality somehow creates an ethical opening to steal it.
You missed the point, it wasn't to say "Pirating is good because the game sucks!" it was to say that Companys should stop blaming low sales of games on Pirates and on the actual game itself.

I don't think you quite understand the nature of business. There are up times and down times. Not every game rockstar produces is going to make a profit. The idea is to reward companies and businesses that do good and produce good products, not just give them enough to break even on just that product.

I dont think you guys understand how hard it is to crack a TPM or crack any kind of pairing that involves hardware written codes. If any kind of crack was released it would nearly be completely not worth it in the long run due to the complexity involved to bypass it not to mention would invalidate your hardware and warranties.

Any of you who think this is far fetched are actually wrong. This is actually fairly easy to implement and hard to get around.

A similar kind of pairing has been done before. I will let you figure that one out.

Then I misunderstood. I should have directed that comment to those who do make the argument that they wouldn't have bought the game if they couldn't pirate it. There are those who would say the game wasn't good enough to justify buying it, yet played it through themselves. Let me take the opportunity to say I can agree with you on your point, but not with theirs, and think there is an analog in the music industry.

Cheers,
Rob

wow some serious flame war going around here

Some how I feel that developers will find other excuses not to bring games to the PC

Good to see such a technology being implemented I fully support it.

Well, The hardware is hard to get past, but what about changing the actual game?

I quite agree, the only reason I pirate it, is because company's overcharge for games here in Australia, for no good reason, by up to US$40, so I usually don't have the money to get them, but I try to buy the games that I like when I can.

Company1 continues making motherboards without the chip, Company2 starts making motherboards with the chip. Company1's sales increase while Company2's sales decrease, piracy decreases a little bit. This sure is pointless.
