Another Quality set of Ballistix Tracers - Page 4

They should be

I am going to give the new sticks a second chance when I get them. If it happens again = ebay and then I will buy some G.Skill.

They say there is incompatibility bollocks with p35/x38/x48 but that's just a load of rubbish.

These single sided sticks have been dieing left and right with many different motherboards. Also if it is incompatible how come my other set of single sided sticks still work? (For how long is anyone's guess though)

4 Gigs of my Ballistix died a week ago. It caused me hell because I was getting bsods that pointed me in other directions. I then changed out the ram and received no more BSODs. Of course, this was single sided ballistix. Once I get them back from RMA, they're going to be backup ram.

My sticks would work for like 6 hours if I turned the PC off for a a bit which was random. Then they would die in an infinite bsod loop. Once that happened I would turn the pc off and wait and magically they work again. Rinse and Repeat.

After a bit they just died badly so I took one of the sets out at random and I got Bsod's still. Switched the sticks around and I haven't had an issue yet.

I miss not having 4gig. Vista feels sluggish especially when exiting games.

That is rather cheap. Have you delt with that site before? are they any good? (the site - I know the extreem RAM is - except the obvious spelling mistake)

Still having a lovely time trying to find which stick is bad. If I run 2 DIMMs, I get IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (or other BSODs), and memtest shows errors (once every other day or something). When I run just 1 of the 2 potential culprit sticks, memtest doesn't find a thing. Another odd thing is that the bios now wants to set the timings to 5-7-7-24 if the automatic settings are chosen. In the past, it always set things to 5-5-5-15. Strange.

oh man, I'm not liking what I'm reading here. I have a pair of 2x 1gig single sided sticks of 1066 I ordered mine 3 months ago, but havent been able to use them much. Since mine were from 3 months ago, would mine be affected with these bad batch sticks or was this just a recent thing... like within the last month or two?

I think its all the single sided chips. Even the double sided chips above pc2-6400 speeds seem to be having increased failure rates. That being said, many people are running theirs with no problems, just see how it goes, you can always RMA to get a double-sided relplacement.
