2x etch primer
1-2x regular primer
3x+ paint (or until its even)
And sanding a bit between coats only if there are screwups like drips or a "wavy" finish or whatever else, right?
At least 2x coats of primer (etching or regular. Etching ifyou dont have any deep pinholes/scratches to fill, if you do, then regular)
2-4x color coats. I generally do at least 2 and if more are needed keep adding until the coat/color is even. Lighter colors (whites/yellows) will need more coats than darker colors (dark blues/crimson/black)
At least 2x clear coats, if not up to 4. Just make sure its evenly coated.
