Very stupid moment. =// - Page 2

last time i had complete failure, i left the computer for a week without turning it on. it magically started working again after that.

another time, i took apart the computer piece by piece, then reassembled it, and it seemed to work again.

If there are jumpers to reset it, chances are you'll have to use those.

As said, simply find any jumper. Another motherboard, old optical drives, something should have a jumper to use.

You mentioned there being gray solid on your CPU.

Is it possible that some of that got on your pins or in the socket area ?

Also, I'd start re-seating components. GPU, Ram, CPU, ect.. Even the motherboard as a last resort.

Unplug the PSU from the wall outlet too. Since the ATX12v 2.0 spec, all PSUs supply a constant 5v to the motherboard to constantly power the CMOS. So just removing the battery will do nothing.

Take out the cmos battery and hold down the power button for a few minutes, that'll drain the board. (unplug the power cords going to the board)

Try this, power it up as usual and button mash the reset button. Power button too, do that for like 5 minutes see if it turns on. (just trust me. Hold the reset button, and mash the power button, every combination you can think of)
