Can't get mic to work with xtremegamer

Thread Starter
I bought an X-fi Xtremegamer sound card off someone here on ocn and only got the sound card. I installed the latest drivers off soundblaster.com and the sound works fine but I can't get my mic to work.

I've tried using all three jacks and nothing worked. I've tried downloading and installing Alchemy but I need a cd which was never sent.

Heres a screenshot of what I'm working with so far.

I don't think the drivers from creative fully support vista yet, but I'm not sure. But since I'm not using vista, I don't have any idea on where to get other drivers. Try and look for it on google.

If someone who owns an Xtremegamer who has their Vista driver disk could just send him the installers on the disk, he'll be fine

did you check and make sure the mic is not muted?
...Of course he did. His problem is that he needs an app that only comes with the original disk drivers, to enable the flexijack (which isn't a mic input by default) to act as a mic input.

All you need to do is use the flexijack or whatever(the one that is white and has a red light coming out of it) That is where you MIC goes.

Ok, now right click on your sound properties and go to Recording Devices.

Right Click on your MIC and select as Default, now you should have a green check mark beside it. Should be good to go. And don't forget to set your Mic( http://img31.picoodle.com/img/img31/...cm_03b12de.jpg ) up or Vista won't detect it.

That worked, thanks rx7racer.

Where is that monitor thing you turn off so I don't hear myself though my headset?
