Great. Thanks for the help.

I'll try that as soon as I reboot.

Quick question... I've been considering moving to a 64 bit operating system. There's a deal at NewEgg for 2 sticks of 2 Gb OCZ SLI-Ready 800 memory for $63. If were to buy 8 Gb total, would I see a noticeable OC difference from 1000 to 800?

The link to the memory is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227269

In my experience, anything more than 4Gb, it becomes hard to OC anything. I dont really know though...

800 to 1000 would probrably make a fair bandwidth difference, though i dont really know, as the few times ive had my ram over 1k-mhz ive had the timings so loose it nullified the bonus.

Well I was considering getting 2 more Gb of 1000 memory, but unfortunately, the sticks that I have in my computer right now are no longer manufactured.

Should I just buy 2 sticks of the newer Crucial 1000 memory to complement the discontinued older 1000 memory?
Id stay away from Crucial currently, they have some bad batches of ram circulating ATM.

And yes, you can get a second 2Gb set or 2Gb stick (whichever you have now you should duplicate), just make sure it runs the same timings and at the same voltage as your current stuff does. Or make sure your current ram can run at the new stuffs spec's or vise versa.

Okay great thanks.

But I seem to have created another dilemma.

So this is the ram that I have in my computer now:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146563

Now there are only two products with 2 x 1Gb sticks at 1000. They are:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146114

and

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

So basically, I'm wondering if I should go with one of those products or if I should just ditch my current sticks of memory and replace them with this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145197

Thank you for all of your help and for putting up with my numerous questions.

It's nice that the 750i has a reset button. I havn't had to use it recently though as my bios goes into safe mode automatically if peramaters are outside the safe zone. It allows me to go back into the bios and change settings.

Why not go with either a 2gb stick, or 2 2gb sticks?

My e6600 would do 3600 with 1.41 vcore or 3760 with 1.49 vcore but it all depends on the vid and how good of a chip you got. Every time you get a error in orthos up the vcore one notch till you can run orthos for a few hrs.
