Looks like I might get something else after all, found a good deal on a used X4 9850 for the same price as if I pick up a X3 8650 here in Toronto, if things goes good, I will get this instead, and will pick up a Gigabyte's 780g board instead of ECS, since ECS doesn't support 125w CPUs and Gigabyte ones does supposely, any suggestions on that, at this point i have no money for video card, so I probably not gonna consider a 790FX board at all

Get a full ATX MB and make sure it supports it.Some Asus AM2+ MB's can support 140 watts.

I'm still pissed at asus, so I will do some research (actualyl I will do it now) on gigabyte's 780G, i was googling a little ealier , ppl do use it for 9850, so I assume it is good for, but i will look into,

and a bit update on the deal
the 9850 is oem, no box no hsf, appearly guy work for amd(quiet exciting to meet someone actually work for them) the cpu is a gift but never used, he also gonna give me a Zalman CNPS8700 NT cooler for 35, probably take it too, also free AS5 paste, I think it's a awsome deal(he say he will try to find me some free AMD goodies ^^!) so I'm taking it for sure.

EDIT: just check Gigabyte official site, official cpu support list http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=2758 it does support 125w 9850, so this mobo will be my pick, and I'm getting a google check in july, which plus a bit of savings, i will be able to pick up a 48XX in time, onboard will do fine for couple of months.

Also look at the revision of the MB.Some of the earlier versions of a MB might not support it but a newer one might.

speaking of that, i do got a little confused with gigabyte site,
ok, it says F3 BIOS rev1 (the only revision i think) support 9750 ,also a 125w processor, but on 9850 part it say N/A, i do not know if it mean no it doesn't or just simply didn't have a specific info on it, (researching more at the same time)

EDIT: wait a minute... i see rev 1.1 link. checking it out now
EDIT2: nevermind, exact same list as rev 1.0

If you look at the top of the chart N/A means not supported.
You might need to contact tech support because the web sites aren't always up to date.
