My 360 is used (2 years) and has 1 year left on a FULL warranty (Not just RROD), and it has never had one yet. No problems, no weird noises, never gets very hot. I guess I'm a lucky one.

^ my cousin has never had problems with his either.
maybe its the ambients, maybe its the revision or "stepping", who knows.

congrats on your ebay victory! Tell us how things go when it arrives

I never like buying refurbished, but if its enough cheaper (like my dells were) its sometimes worth it.

are you willing to risk $350 to save $40? i hear squaretrade is very good with their replacement. its also nice to have warranty included if you decide to sell it down the road.

Just send him a quick message to let him know. I had a chance to buy the squaretrade warranty with my ps3, but didn't bother with it. I'm not worried about it in the least. However, it's never a bad idea and could be worth it. I also hear they are a very good service.

Let's put it this way - There's a Wikipedia article called "Xbox 360 technical problems" - No such article exists for the PlayStation 3. Someone created one a while back, but it was full of so much FUD and bull, it got deleted, and "Playstation 3 technical problems" just got redirected to the normal PlayStation 3 article.

October 26, 2000, so about 7 and a half. I also have one of the O.G. PS2s (The one with the Firewire port next to the USB ports).. Still running strong.

I wouldn't buy a used 40GB for $350. Certainly not. It's worth the $50 for peace of mind with a retail system.
