HELP AoC/ 8800 vs 3870

Thread Starter
ok, I got aoc, and it's awesome, except I need a new video card really bad. I have a core 2 duo at 2.2ghz, 2gb of ram, and an 8500. Also, my screen is a 22" widescreen, so what would be better at higher resolutions for age of conan, a diamond 3870, or one of these?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...124&CatId=1826

also, I have a qpack 2 case, and I have read some places saying they don't fit, some saying they do (they being larger cards such as the 8800)

thanks a lot, answers appreciated

THe 8800GT is comparable to the 3870. It might have slightly better performance but it will only be seen in benchmarks. The 3870 is a fine card.

Please go into the user control panel and post your system. There are many core 2 duo's out there so we need to know which one your running, along with the rest of your rig.

My recommendation to you atm is a 8800GTS 512 (G92) because of the higher resolution the 8800GT will not suffice for good frames + high detail.

the nv is way better at the mo so i`d plumb for the 8800. dont know how thing are where you are but the next card up in the 8800 series is only about 20 dollers more for quite an upgrade.

you should ave no problem fitting this card in

if you gonna go with that price range you should look into that zoltac 8800gtx for $209.99 before shipping

Or this which is like what you linked but much cheaper.

are zotac cards a reliable, good brand? I was thinking I should just get a plain old EVGA 8800GT for 180

and the main issue really is if it will fit, anyone have a better idea
