Some sort of running pad for the wii?

Hey, I was just thinking about something. What if they made a pad that people could actually run on for the wii, something with maybe a 5 foot diameter, that when you moved your foot it would slide under you so that you could keep walking or running backwards, forwards, or side to side without actually moving. That way for shooters and stuff, you could actually get into the game. My idea would be a pad that had a bunch of little rolling spheres inside, that would roll the material over the spheres, then pick up the movement on sensors.

I know it would probably take a little getting used to so that you don't fall over as soon as you step on it, but once you got used to it, it seems like it would actually be a pretty decent idea. A little bit like an elliptical, or a treadmill.

That's actually a pretty neat idea. The spheres would need a reasonable amount of resistance though or else it'd be like walking on a floor of marbles. Another idea is that it would have a locking mechanism controlled by a button on the controller so that when you're in those intense gaming moments you don't break your hip. XD
