well around 700 would be great.

we got a E2180 processor already just wanted to know what else we should get for it.

not really looking for SLI unless its all under $700...

My picks (all from Newegg...some items will be cheaper elsewhere, like the PSU. Check www.buy.com for that one):
  • COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case $84.99
  • DFI BloodIron P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard $114.99
  • XFX PVT88PYSF4 GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card $169.99
  • CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply $94.99
  • G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ $84.99
  • Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500AAKS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $62.99
  • LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model iHAS120-04 $23.99
  • Tuniq Tower 120 P4 & K8 CPU Cooler $49.99
Total: $686.92

I assumed you don't need a monitor/keyboard/mouse/operating system.

Yeah it is if you won't be extreme overclocking. I'd stay with Tuniq considering its only 25 bucks more and you can push the CPU farther. Also, if your getting vista... get Vista 64bit and prepair your self for 4GB of ram.

$7 more will get you 400GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136076

and $10 more will get you the PC P&C Silencer 610w (it actually ends up costing $10 LESS after rebate

and it ships for free

Since you are making this a gaming rig, you'll want that 4GB of ram. Gaming now-a-days with only 2GB of ram is not a good as it is with 4GB+

your wish list is still there.

i got the same video card but from XFX (better brand?) also for $200AR and came with COD4

i guess a 8800GS would be fine considering im expecting the CPU to bottleneck...

CPU isn't going to bottleneck. All this stuff about CPU bottleneck is quite overblown. Yeah, some games (and esp. 3DMark06) will be CPU limited, but more games will have GPU limits. Get the best card you can afford, and don't worry too much about CPU bottlenecks. In most games, you won't have any bottleneck.

thanks.

im still going for the 8800GS what you guys think?
i just think its a good card for the money. and since i cant spend anything over $100...i guess a 8800 series will be a plus. i really hate the 8600 series...
