July Upgrade (E8400 or Q6600)?

I prefer E8400 coz of its cheaper than Q6600 and newer.
so which 1 is better for my current gaming configuration?

I would definitely go for it. Will be a huge upgrade from your P4 also.

yea its a penryn really easy to OC just make sure you dont over volt it then fry it
You'll probably get it to over 3.8Ghz.
You needa upgrade, lol a P4 and a 8800GT xD

If you are waiting till july to upgrade why don't you try the E7300 it is meant to be release around that date. it has a 10 multiplier and will overclock better than a E7200

I could not tell you how it will cost i bet it will be below the £100 mark

The Q6600 wont overclock as high and unless you're using some crazy multithreaded apps (there are very few) the E8400 will be faster.

Whats your price range? If its <$200 I would get the 8400 unless you do video or other multithreaded work like I do.
If you have the money, take a look at the 45nm quads, the Q9450.
