e7200 or e8400??? - Page 4

dont go Tri-Sli Sli is enough and Tri-Sli has nearly no gains not worth the money/hassle

for 1100:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017 Q6600 $215
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231145 G.skill 2x2GB $85
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=Evga%2b780i Evga 780i $250
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...6022&Tpk=DA850 DA850 $206(enough for SLi and a lot more even for Tri-Sli)
GFX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127336 HD3450 $25
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148316 $70
DVD burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151153 $26
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133062 Thermaltake armour+ $135

Total of 1012

I think my choices are better compared to yours e.g the RAM, the Case and powersupply

why not start off with at least a decent GPU (8800GTS 512MB or maybe an 8800GT 512MB). See my link to a wishlist on Newegg in my previous post (save on mobo, CPU, and an 8800GTS will fit the budget).

ok, I did some updating...
changed the ram to gskill 1000mhz, went down to the e7200, changed the fan to the tuniq tower, etc.....

and now it almost fits that $900 budget (well more like $1000)
and as for the GPU, I might as well wait a month or so, and get 2x880GTS when i have some extra money...

what do you guys think??

But 8800GTS is much better than 8800GS. You should buy cheaper mobo.

well, I need dual LAN..., although I was thinking about the 680i.... I am aiming for performance w/ upgradablity..... Plus, from what i have been reading, I would need to flash the bios on the 680 with an older CPU(that i don't have), and I am worried about OCing a quad core if i ever upgrade...
