recommended Set-Up

CPU = E7200 @ 2.56ghz
GPU = 8800 GTS 512mb XFX x 2
PSU = 750w T/Take
MOBO = ASUS SLI Series
RAM = 2 or 4 gb DDR 2 Gskill or after market
COOLING = Tunqi Tower, T.R.U.E
well, due to the price, I'm going with the E7200 ( i will probably upgrade later to q660)

I already ordered the PSU(ultra x3 1000w)....(good deal, so i got it... IN A HURRY)....
the GPU ... I got a evga 8800GT ($150) ... I will just get 2x8800GTS later ;-) and sell, or trade, or use the GT in another machine ;-)

but I think I'm pretty happy(just wish it was the e8400 instead... but close enough)

E7200 @ 3.8ghz needs less v-core than the E8400 @ 3.8ghz

E7200 only has 3mb L2
E8400 has 6mb L2

There is about 2% - 8% Diff when playing games. when the CPU are clocked to 3.8ghz.

E7200 is one of the best overclocking chips in the 45nm series because it only has a 1066 mhz QDR compare and 3mb L2.

I play all my games on it but as i'm only running XP Home it can only uitlise one core and one thread but i'm upgrading to vista home premium 32 bit this week then i'll be able to get two cores. Impressed with this cheap

You might as well get 2x evga 8800GT 512 I think GTS are slightly better and will overclock better but SLI'ing to 8800GT''s 512 will give great graphics but you'll still struggle to run cyrsis on Very / Ultra High setting. You'll need two 9800GX 2 two achieve such performance but thats just a waste of money.

I would recommend that you get a wider case with better air flow for all the components that you plan fitting in that APEVIA case, Its only 7.8" wide. TheTuniq Tower is a big heatsink it may barely fit. Take a look at the COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 $59.99 or find a case at least 8.4" wide with 120m fans. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119152

You went for the Q6600 65nm you'll be able to OC passed 3.0ghz on good mobo's. at least you have decided to go for the future proofing. You will not notices any diff in games until they bring out software to support the Q6600.

That poor E7200 was waiting to go in your system and have that baby clocking pass 4ghz

P.S. i was going to get a Q6600 but my mobo is crap at handling them so i decided to go for a E7200
