Aerocool I-Curve - Opinions / Alternatives

post #1 of 13

Ohhkay, so i'm looking for a new case basically.. And my next case will be something a little less garish.. No side panel, no lights (maybe UV inside or something), just a functional, stylish machine.

I've been looking at this one: Areocool I-Curve..

This one;

Basically, i was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with this particular case? Or Aerocool as a brand? Or anything similar?

Maybe shoot out some recommendations for some similar looking cases that won't break the bank (i'm looking at you Li-Li) ??

I haven't seen any around local shops, but from the picture, the quality looks ok, no shiny cheap plastics like thermaltake offers.

Lots of people swear by Aerocool GPU cooler though, so I guess that if product quality is consistent, cases should be solid as well.

Not sure what the cost of that Aerocool case is, or how comfortable you are with OCUK, but... here.

I have an Aerocool Aeroengine II (silver)

Its great, well built, and awesome. The only problem is that the acrylic panel to the case is mounted on by some type of screw, and if I wanted too I could fit my fingernail between the acrylic and the SECC (I think, whatever metal it is though).
Its actually not that bad at all, and I like the fact that the acrylic is on the outside of the case rather than glued to the inside.

I have bend a few things on the case though, like one of the tabs on the motherboard tray that lock it into the support rail and the bottom of the case. Don't leave your case on your bedroom floor and turn the lights off, I accidently stepped on my mobo tray and bent the tab . I hope I explained the tab thing enough, its kind of difficult if you don't know what I'm talking about .

I think they're a great brand.

No problems with OCUK, but that price is a little over budget for me, was hoping to spend £55/60 tops..

My flatmate has the Aerocool Engine 3T or something, with the big 25cm fan on the side, that seems like an alright piece of kit..

And, i've looked at the 690 Alex, but it just doesn't appeal to me all that much.. Not sure why, guess maybe i want something a bit more exclusive and different..

This one isn't as clean on the front, imo, but it's quality and within your budget range.

I'm not sure about the Li-Li's, the motherboard panel has no holes, and i don't plan to cut any out or anything for the ol' cable management.. Be handy if there was a 360 viewer. Or even better, a local pc shop near me..
