Yeah, looks fine with me also. If you want, you could get the OCZ Vendetta 2 heatsink instead. It's supposedly better than the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme.

This specific antec actually is top-notch:

Good picks across the board. No real need for SLI at 1680x1050, but it will make your gaming life more enjoyable.

Thanks for all the quick replies. You guys are going to make it a whole lot easier to place this order in time to ship on Tuesday morning.

I chose the 750i FTW because it seems to hit a sweet spot in SLI boards, balancing price and performance. Additionally there's quite a bit of information/knowledge regarding overclocking it.

I'm going to hold off on RAID at this time. I can pick that up easily enough in the future and I'll have my hands full overclocking the processor and getting up to gaming speed.

The GPU is a bottleneck, I know. I'm hoping it won't be too much of a drag until the new crop of cards arrive. Then I can make a decision to upgrade or go SLI.

The OCZ cooler is OOS. For the initial build all I really want is a good cooler that's easy to install. I'll lap sometime down the road if need be.

Thanks again for the comments. Please keep them coming. I appreciate all thoughts, opinions, and comments.

Cheers!

P.S. I cannot believe the mighty Chozart didn't come up with any changes! Though I suppose all that means is that I read enough of everyone's posts to make decent choices. Great forum!

So... the trigger's been pulled on the order, and I picked up a couple of items locally.

I went with the Q6600. $199 at the local Microcenter. Since this is my first overclocking/tweaking build, I figured I'd try and start reasonably with mid level components. That way, I should get decent performance and not want to commit seppuku if I fry anything.

I also picked up an EVGA 8800gt at Fry's for something like $130 after rebate. I hate rebates, but it was a good deal and my girlfriend said she'd take care of it along with the others in the main order.

I still have to decide on and pick up a monitor. I'll probably stick with the Samsung 245bw and buy it at Costco for $399.

The rest, I ordered from Newegg with the exception of the WD HD. Of course, it went OOS sometime yesterday. Classic. At least I found one at Mwave for $97 plus $. It was about the same price in the end. And, pray with me, both ship from SoCal so, pray with me, everything should arrive on the same day.

Now for the worst part. I have to clean out my office/man room. I planned on doing it over the weekend, but I was having too much fun and besides it was a holiday.

If you don't need HDMI for your monitor, 245bw is the way to go to my understanding. I was going to go with that but i plan to use my xbox with my monitor as well.

good luck cleaning the room lol. i just recently sprained my ankle. i'm thinking i can get some serious sympathy points with the GF and get her to "help" me clean the room haha.
