ok guys i have decided not to go allout on this build and i am just going to go for bang for buck cus im also upgrading my current pc and buying 3 monitors....

So the everything i want is as follows:

new pc
cpu: q6600
gpu: 9800gtx
ram: 8gb pc6400 supertalent
mobo: asus p5qdeluxe
psu: 750 corsair tx (would go for the hx620 but this is cheaper)
hdd: 500gb samsung
os: 64bit vista premium
wifi: dlink pci card
monitors: 2 22" chimei (not anything exciting here! lol but decent enough for me)

now on to the upgrade seeing as i dont currently have a gpu in this it will be an upgrade no matter how lowly! lol
cpu: e8300
gpu: 256 xfx 8600gts
ram: another gb of xms2
monitor: a new 20" to compliment my 19"

and guess what in total this comes to £1294 pretty damn cheap i think!!! for a pc an upgrade and 3 monitors!!!

For design work, I'd spent a little extra and grab yourself a QX9650. The quad power with any design work you do will be heaven

Out of curiosity, what type of design work do you do?

i wouldnt bother with a qx9650 seeing as its another £500 lol and i will overclock the q6600

i will mainly use it for lots of photoshop work and a tiny bit of cad.

it will be used for my design work so will be used as a workstation.

i know i could decide this by myself i mean i know what im doing very very well now but i would just like some input on these.

first one(bit more subtle/cheaper)

cpu: intel q6600 g0
mobo: asus p5k premiumwifi
ram:8gb corsair xms2 pc6400
gpu: 1gb 9800gx2 xfx
psu: 1000w corsair hx
hdd: 500gb samsung
os: vista premium 64bit
optical: pioneer

total bout £1000

but then for another £300 i could get this
cpu: 2 x xeon e5405 quad 2ghz
mobo: skulltrail mobo
ram: 4gb twin xms2 pc6400 800mhz (maybe 8gb...) (from what i can work out here http://www.scan.co.uk/products/produ...oductID=764124 it can take non buffered ram)
gpu: 1gb 9800gx2
hdd: samsung 500gb
psu: 750w corsair hx(not sure if this is enough)
vista premium
pioneer

for about £1300

so thats an extra 4 cpu cores etc.

What you guys think?

Josh

why Skulltrail board.? why would you want a slower pc? FBDImms are slowr then DDr1
