Thanks for the help.
Another question: When they say that the fan is sleeved, what does that mean?
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=22033
Price is 3.95 if you take away sleeves.

Oh ok, so if I don't want the cable to be sleeved, I could get them at performance pcs for 4 cents less...

Might as well get it there, and find some 3pin-4pin adapters somewhere, since the shipping will probably make up for the price difference due to the fact that I'm also buying some other stuff there.

if u can take away sleeves then they are referring to the wires being sleeved. sleeved wires only make it look better and neater. Usually there are 3-4 wires for your power. by sleeving it, they take off the connector and put a sleeve around the wires then heatshrink the ends and then put the connector back on.

Yate Loon D12SH-12 Curved blade from PTS - This is what Petras stocks mostly...it's a very good fan, especially for the price. Especially on the radiator. The 12V and 11V numbers are out-of-line with the expected and with what others experience and I can hear noticeable extraneous noise at those two voltages...probably something wrong with my fan specifically. I still like it too... Like most fans, it improved SLIGHTLY over its 0-hour test numbers.

Yate Loon D12SH-12 Straight blade from PTS - This is what Petras stocks occasionally...it's a very good fan, especially for the price. Especially on the radiator. Mine made no extraneous noises....it's SLIGHTLY better than the curved blade variant on the radiator, but SLIGHTLY worse in open air. I call it a draw overall. Like most fans, it improved SLIGHTLY over its 0-hour test numbers.

Yate Loon D12SH-12 Straight blade NOT from PTS - This is the D12SH-12 available from every place not named Petras Tech Shop. They DO use different suppliers and this fan IS different. It has different internals, scales differently with voltage and noticeably deteriorated from its 0-hour performance. It makes some noises I don't want my fans making: mainly light thuds and clicks. In fact, all but one non-PTS Yate Loon made extraneous noise. Oh, it also doesn't perform that well...look at the graphs.
[SOURCE]

-EDIT-

I dunno but I bought 6 of the medium speed yate loons from Xoxide and 4 of them made annoying clicking sounds...

Hmm, ok thanks for the help guys.

Wait.... Does that mean I should buy from Petras or not?
I don't really like the idea of spending 2USD+ for a slightly better version.
Hmm, might see if I can get all the stuff I need at Petra's, instead of performance PCs

I say find someplace local to buy them so that you don't pay shipping. Although if you are buying many others things online, it is probably better to get the fans online too. I say go for Loons, but only if they are under 5$. Anything over that, they are taking advantage of the Looon name.

If you are buying locally, you should go to a hardware/electronics store.

Fans are cheaper there because, well, they want you to build stuff and help you do it, whereas those PC stores are the with prices.

You will probably find some Papst, San Aces, Sanyo-Denkis, Panaflo, Deltas, or another by company that starts with a T....Sounds like Titan...or Tiger...Tagar...for around 3-7$.
