Help! E8400 idling at 40C!! - Page 2

Ok, Real Temp reads 29 and 30C when idling with the speedstep enabled, so it's really running at 2.0GHz. Now I feel better.

Why? It actually saves a good bit of electricity. I put the money saved from enabling speedstep (lower electric bill) towards a 4870

Unless it causes instability theres isn't a point to disable it. Less stress on the overall system right?

TjMax figure I use for the E8400 is 95c. The latest versions of Everest and Coretemp can be adjusted if you wish.

95c. For 45nm? I dont find that close to belivable. My water would never even break 40c
