Flashing bios: How do i do it?

Thread Starter
I want to create a bootable USB drive, have my up dated BIOS on it and flash my current BIOS with the up dated version. So my question to my fellow overclockers is who do i do this?

I understand that there will be comands needed to propt it using dos or something and utilities and formating for my USB to perform such a task.

Can you please direct me somewhere that i can find out to do this or tell me how yourself, and a link to download any software needed for the flash?

I have my updated bios down loaded already. I have an ASUS P5KC mobo and there is some easy flash utility. This sounds like it might be easyier to use?????

All help appreciated.

what about asus ezflash in the bios?
That asus motherboard you have should have an ezbios editor, look in your manual it is something like f12 to boot to ezbios and you can put the new bios on a flash drive and it will ask you if you want to flash it and look for the bios file. Just boot up and get into bios screen and sometimes its at bottom of screen. ALLEN

I have used "ASUS EZ Flash 2" several times on different ASUS board and it works like a charm everytime.

Just do as it states in the "User Guide" for your board.

Your USB stick most have FAT32 or 16 format thou.

all you have to do is save the bios file to a flash drive then boot to the flash drive its not all that complicated
