It's generally a good idea. But my oopinion is if runs for 6 hours, it's fine. My only recommendation is once you have clocks and voltages you are happy with, then run it one good time overnight for like 12 hours or so just to be sure. But preliminarily it's ok to run 6 hours at a time when you're just trying to find an ideal clock speed.

I've been told many different things...what I go for is generally 12 hours. Just run the test over night, if it passes 12 hours you are fine. The minimum I'd say to run it would be 8 hours...but I recommend 12.

I use OCCT while I am clocking up a processor, 8 hours of Ortho's in 1 hour. Once I get to the knitty gritty I will then run Ortho's or Prime95 to verify the stability of a clock for 12 hours.

8-12 hours is just fine man. Usually if you get an error you will get it within the 8 hours though!

Recently while testing I got an error after 3.5 hours, but that was more an exception then the regular thing - first few hours w/o errors is good "release candidate". Be sure to test thoroughly once you're happy with the settings.

OTOH - the setting I used in 32 bit xp (20 hours stable test), gave me errors in 64 bit xp in just a few minutes, so I had to back off a bit with few settings.
