New build won't POST, mobo(DS3R), CPU(E4500) DOA?

Hey guys.. So I finally ordered all my parts for my new build. Here are the specs
MOBO:Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R
CPU:E4500
RAM:G.Skill 2gb DDR2 800(2 sticks)
GPU: XFX 8800GT
HSF:Tuniq Tower
PSU:Corsair hx520

Ok..I put all this together in my CM690 case with no problems. I did all the rewiring behind the motherboard and everything, all cables and slots were tightly secured. I plugged it all in and when I turned it on, all I got was the 6 phase lights on the motherboard showing, all the fans spinning, and no display. I tested my brothers GPU(8800GTS G80) and the same results. I read a thread about someones Tuniq backplate shorting out the DS3R, so I removed the whole HSF, reseated the processor, and put the stock cooler on. Turned it on and I still got no display. I have checked and rechecked the entire mobo, and even took it out of the case and tried it. I disconnected everything except the main components. I tried two different kinds of ram in all the slots and running only 1 gig but nothing would help. I have resetted the jumpers, removed power and cmos battery with no luck. Everything that I'm using for the build is brand new.

The only problem that I can think of is that either the MOBO is DOA, or the Processor is dead. I have seen a lot more cases where the motherboard has been DOA, and not too many with CPU's. Could there be something that I'm overlooking? It seems like I have tried everything, rebuilding over and over. This is my first computer build too, not very happy with the outcome so far. Anyways if you have any suggestions or something I could try I would really appreciate it.

I have tried my brothers Samsung SyncMaster 206BW and a different Dell monitor. Is it possible to flash the bios it doesn't even turn on? I can't even get it into post, all that happens when I turn it on is spinning fans, and the motherboard phase lights turn on.

If ur tuniq shorted out the DS3R cuz of the backplate then its already too late. I'd try a different CPU in it and see if it POST.

The guy in the thread that I read said his worked after he removed the backplate. If you want to see the thread its here http://www.hardforum.com/archive/ind...t-1143984.html
I'm not sure if its ok to post it here??? I don't have another processor at the time, my brother might try to put in his q6600 later, otherwise I'm thinking I might have to RMA the motherboard. I'm just trying to narrow it down to any possible fix to get this pc working.

Well..We tried again tonight.. Tried a different PSU. No luck. Tried to get POST without CPU in, and even hooked up a speaker but no beep codes. Going to RMA tomorrow.

Well...I received my new RMA'd motherboard a few days ago, and that was the problem. I have my system up and running perfectly. Currently I'm working on overclocking my e4500, I have it to 2.8Ghz already. Thanks for all your help guys!
