Thread Starter
Im really new at this, so I just wanted to know how exactly do I change my fan speed with speed fan. Where do I go and what settings do I alter.
Thanks.

speedfan will only adjust chassis fans connected directly to the board...
& only those fans with a 4-pin connection ....

if u are able to adjust their speed its done here... one of these value slots will alter fan speed ...

as shown here...

Thanks for the fast reply!
I tried adjusting all of the speed values, but nothing happens. Fan 1 remains at 2800 RPM...since I disabled smart fan in my bios. Is there a different way I should be approaching this. Id like to have the speed higher than the smart fan speed, but I dont want it constantly running at 100%.

if nothing happened none of them are connected to a speed sensor......

ur HSF should be linked to one of them at least......(can u control that..?)

but there is no other way to control them except maybe the bios
or have a hunt round ur board u may have un used 4-pin headers
my board has loads of chassis fan outlets

Yeah my heat sink fan is the only that comes up cause the rest of my fans arent connected to any headers on the mobo. In version 4.34 of speed fan I get for fans:
fan 1: 2800 RPM, fan 2,3,4: 0 RPM. then when I try to alter speed values nothing happens. I guess I could connect my hsf to a different fan outlet, but since it does register the speed of my one fan, shouldnt this work..?

yes!! ur HSF should be a 4-pin connection to allow the board to alter fan speed if needed ....

so speedfan should be able to alter it...?

lol, Ive looked into the software that came with my mobo, I reenabled smart fan in the bios, and ive just decided to use that to increase fan speed, and smart fan to monitor temps and RPM. Ill have to look into this mess later since its 3:40 AM here, but thanks for the help!
REP + since ive never done that.

Try this:

Configure > Advanced Tab > PWM Mode > Software Controlled.

Or lookee here:

Basically just set it so the software controls the fans.
