I love my 24". On one side, it has a large screen area and a higher resolution (1920x1200) which makes Photoshopping and multitasking a breeze because of the increased desktop area. On the other side, it takes a little more graphics horsepower to play at that resolution. I'd honestly go with the 24" though. My monitor is the most common praise I get from anyone who uses my computer.

Go for the 24", then you can view 1080P high def, more workspace, great big gaming, etc. etc.

I would def go 24. They are getting quite cheap now. Its worth the money, especially for the larger resolution. You will not notice a small difference in contrast. Be sure to look at actual contrast, not the magical contrast that they change with software (ie. 8000:1)
