surely a spot cool + some extra heatsinks will be fine to cool it down??? which would do a better job at keeping it cool , the stock fan or spotcool?
Spot cool + 60mm fan + extra heatsinks will work.

The stock fan doesn't push enough air through and the spot cool will barely make a difference with it. I use my Spot Cool to get more airflow to the 60mm fan.

Dude, stop ignoring my advice. The fan sucks, I have two right here. They barely push any air compared to the 60mm fans I linked.

And it is heating up your case because it ISN'T pushing enough air. If it was pushing enough air it would be cool, not hot.

Under full load, overclocked, my 780i temp never exceeded 57C with the stock fan. With an antec spotcool instead of the stock, my temps dropped 3 C. However, the antec spotcool was much quieter....

I did a comparison between my 60mm fan and the spot cool. Neither was quieter than the other and because of the size of the spot cool, less air was going through the NB fins.
