I hate my e2180. Need some tips.

Thread Starter
I'm using a DS3L mobo with a Freezer 7 pro and TX-2 cooling. I get 33c or so idle and 51c full load. My BIOS settings are

CPU multiplier x10
FSB at 300
RAM multiplier at 2.0 w/ 4-4-4-14 timings
RAM is +0.2v
CPU voltage is at an insane 1.425v

This is stable. Really stable. But it won't go stable even at 3.1GHz. I won't be able to afford a new CPU for a long time so I want to get as much as I can out of this. It boots at up to 3.3GHz at 1.45v, but it won't last more then 30 minutes on Orthos. No matter what I fiddle with, it has a BSOD. Are there any tips? What would be a good voltage setting for something like 3.3GHz or more?

wow. I must have gotten an excellent chip then. I can get 300*10 @stock voltage.

have you turned on the "turbo boost" option (or what ever it's called) in the bios?
have you enable load line calibration in bios?

Right. You can go as high as 1.5 with the 65nm E2180. I used to run mine 1.475 to hold a stable 3.2GHz.

Click on Linskindom's link in the lower right to see what vcore others used.

I have a new batch, from February. >_<

Turbo boost is just the memory, right? I have it on Standard (There's default, Standard and Turbo). How does that effect anything/

Load Line Calibration? Where's that at on F5 BIOS?

You may try dropping the multi and upping the fsb that way. That was how I was able to get my 3.6GHz. Not sure if ya tried that yet.

You can squeeze out a bit more performance that way anyways even if you are still stuck at 3.0GHz.

I'm currently posting from 3.2GHz with 1.475v and 355x9.

This booted real fine, but it had an error (YAY NO BSOD) in Prime95 so I upped the voltage a bit and put the RAM multi down to 2.0. Lets see how it goes. Until then yeah, getting the manual would be great. I misplaced mine.

Here's a couple of things to try. First have you bumped up your NB(MCH or MCP)? If not you should give that more. Also you said your RAM is +0.2, is your RAM voltage supposed to be 2.0v because most likely stock is 1.8(1.8+0.2=2.0) Lots of RAM voltage is 2.2 so you might want to check that.
You also might want to loosen your RAM timings to 5-5-5-15. See if that helps.
